Sean Jean Bedding to Launch at Macy’s

More and more celebrities seem to branching into home decor. Last month we saw the announcement of Beyonce’s House of Dereon bedding line. Now Home Textiles Today reports that October will bring the launch of a Sean John bedding line at Macy’s. According to the article, Revman International, which is behind home lines for Tommy Bahama, Tommy Hilfiger and Michael Kors, is the licensee for the bedding group that is meant to be a reflection of Sean John founder Sean “Diddy” Combs’ style and taste.

In a neat little branding tie-in one of the three bedding lines takes the name of the vodka Diddy promotes, Ciroc. The other two lines are Saville Row, named after the London street famous for its tailors; and Alpine, perhaps named for the pricey New Jersey town in which Combs resides. The beds will be done in metro-masculine shades of grays, blues, browns and plum with cotton sateen sheets. Mini-comforter sets, a comforter and two shams, will retail for$250 for the full/queen. Later the bedding line will be distributed to other department stores as well as the Sean John flagship store on Fifth Avenue.

Rock & Republic files Chapter 11

Bad news for fashion brand Rock & Republic. The Los Angeles-based company famous for pricey jeans with embellished pockets has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The company plans to continue business as usual and is taking the Chapter 11 opportunity to reorganize and as the LA Times puts it, explore financial relationships, otherwise known as finding friends with deep pockets.

The brand was founded by Michael Ball in 2002. It gained attention for partnering with Victoria Beckham for a line of pricey denim with a crown on the rear. The brand expanded from clothing into sunglasses, handbags and cosmetics but quotes from Geoffrey D. Lurie, the company’s newly named chief restructuring officer, indicate that the company will be focusing more on its core apparel and footwear businesses. At the start of 2009 Michael Ball told the AP that “the days of the $300 jeans are gone.” Rock & Republic then launched the Limited Edition Recession Collection selling jeans for under $150. They haven’t dropped the decadence entirely though, the Crazy B!@#H jeans shown here in Dementia Black sell for $385.

World’s ugliest Rolex

This is a custom leopard print diamond and sapphire Cosmograph Daytona, has turned up for sale via global online luxury marketplace JamesList for $46,000. Unsurprisingly, the hideous timepiece has never been worn, and is being offered for sale in Miami Beach. The special edition watch has an 18k yellow gold case with 36 baguette cognac sapphires, 48 diamonds on the end pieces, and a leopard print dial festooned with another eight diamonds. It comes on a leopard print leather strap with an 18k yellow gold deployable clasp.

- It’ll go great with a variety of Ed Hardy t-shirts, just saying.

Victoria Secret Models invade Necker Island

When the new Victoria’s Secret swim catalog shows up in your mailbox you may recognize the exotic locale – it was shot at Virgin mogul Richard Branson’s Necker Island luxury retreat in the British Virgin Islands.

Of the experience, the quintessential California girl avowed, “It’s the most beautiful place I’ve ever been. We shot the cover in the evening during sunset. It was really a magical setting.” Of course you can book your own stay at Necker Island, part of Virgin’s Limited Edition collection of luxurious escapes, but don’t expect a gaggle of half-naked supermodels to be permanently in residence.
