A new record was set for a wine sale in Britain recently when an unnamed customer spent $75,000, including tip, on a bottle of Dom Perignon in a London bar. The buyer’s name hasn’t been released but he’s believed to be a Russian tycoon (Abramovich feeling spendy again, perhaps?) with good taste: the sale was for a methuselah of the prized 1996 Rose Gold vintage. The large bottle, dipped in rose gold and worth more than the champagne itself, holds 6 liters (1.59 gallons) and is obviously meant to serve a large group. The purchase took place this past Tuesday during an afterparty for the screening of the new movie “Boogie Woogie” at the Westbury Hotel and included a well-earned $15,000 tip — according to witness reports within minutes of delivery 3 glasses of the pricey champagne had been spilled.

50 raked in £50,000 for uttering one word at a launch party on Thursday. That’s £16.6K per letter. Fiddy – who is in the UK on his Before I Self Destruct tour – was wooed by the owners of flash new Liverpool club Bamboo to attend its opening night.

Once he’d been ferried by a Hummer Heaven stretch limo to the city’s first seven-star club, his entourage had magnums of Cristal and Dom Perignon champagne on tap – served up by two models. Sources say; “People thought 50 Cent might perform a track or two, given the massive fee, but he just greeted the crowd with a ‘Hey’ and got back to his two personally requested ladies, who were lavishing booze on him.“

Indoor treehouse eatery in Vegas

Architect David Rockwell has constructed an 80-ft. tall “treehouse” inside Crystals at Las Vegas’ $8.5 billion CityCenter to house a dramatic new eatery called Mastro’s Ocean Club. This is not certified as hyphy, the only reason being they refuse to let guests smoke trees inside the facility.
