In this clip from Scoob Doo’s upcoming Nino Brown 3 DVD, Mack Maine gets a call from Lil Wayne raving on about Jay-Z’s “Light Up” verse. Mack then convinces Wayne to call into a studio the next day to lay a verse over the phone (which Drake previewed last night on Ustream.)

50 Cent Open To Collaboration With Drake. “He’s talented. I ain’t Taking Nothing Away From His Talent.”

In the latest excerpt from 50 Cent’s interview with Rap-Up, they discover that he has no problems in doing a song with rapper Drake.

Rap-Up: What do you think about Drake?
50 Cent: I don’t really. I guess he’s cool. He has momentum with his music, but the things that he’s able to do are things that I’m not permitted to do ’cause of the perception of me. The aggression in my music is translated the strongest and they expect that from me every time. It kinda works for me and works against me at different points. [Drake's] a great singer also; we like the part when he starts to sing on the chorus. He just put out a whole R&B song ["Find Your Love"]—like there’s no rap on it, it’s just an R&B record. That is what Kanye West was permitted to do with 808s & Heartbreak, to make a complete love song or an R&B record. I won’t be permitted to do that because they expect me to kill someone on the song. They just want that from me because I’ve had that type of energy in my actual experience and they feel like it’s special or authentic in some way when I offer that.

Rap-Up: Would you want to do an R&B record?
50 Cent: Not an R&B record, but just music that has those melodies in it. I probably wouldn’t perform the singing portion of the songs, but to make an album like that, yeah, it would be cool.

Rap-Up: Are you open to a collaboration with Drake?
50 Cent: Yeah, why not? He’s talented. I ain’t taking nothing away from his talent and Kanye too. We never had any issues with me saying they weren’t talented artists. It was more of a conscious decision to compete [with Kanye] to stir up some energy.

It’s finally here. After months of anticipation, Drake’s debut album, Thank Me Later, finally leaked to the Internets yesterday—two weeks before its planned June 15 release date. The response? All depends on who you ask. Some folks praised Drake for taking chances on the album, while others criticized him for relying a little too heavily on his R&B tendencies. One thing is for sure, though: Everyone seems to have an opinion on it.

Buffalo, NY- On stage in a pink wig that she had made famous in the 90’s, and is again being made famous by Nicki Minaj, Lil’ Kim had had enough. Taking off the pink wig, Kim threw the pink fake hair into the audience and without saying any names took shots at Nicki Minaj stating, “I’m going to another level” and repeating “I’m so above this!”

It looks like Kim has moved past her previous colorful barbie persona and at the same time is getting tired of Little Lil’ KimNicki Minaj’s swagger jacking moves, cause there really is no other female MC that she could be referencing.
